Description

Taken on a photo shoot in Tokyo, Japan.

Before entering the Meiji Jingu shrine you are required to perform the Shinto ritual called Harai, which is the clensing of one’s body with water. Visitors wash their hands and mouth using these bamboo ladles, and the well water from a large stone basin.
